How to deal with Distractions When Listening To Binaural Beats
You don't need to have a completely quiet and motionless environment in order to achieve results when listening to sound therapy audio. If you've been putting off listening because you can't seem to escape lifes interruptions, then read on.
The single most difficult thing to do when listening to sound therapy is to have your mind occupied about things you can't control. Things like other people being around and/or talking. Maybe you're expecting your phone to ring or a visitor to knock on your door.
You should do what you can to make listening as comfortable as possible, but if there are things that bother you, I'd suggest to "allow" them to be there. Simply giving permission to these things to exist will allow your mind to rest. Meaning, say to yourself, "it's okay there are distractions".
The "giving permission" tactic can help solve many problems. Simply by acknowledging that there are distractions and allowing them to be there can help the mind accept it and can make for a better listening experience. If you hear a noise while listening that interrupts your listening, simply think to yourself, "that's a noise" or "that's a dog barking". Acknowledge it, then move on.
If you're listening in an area where other people are doing things, putting on your headphones will help to 1) Tell others that you don't want to be bothered and 2) Will allow you to escape the distractions that may be going on. Along with "giving permission" to those who are around you to be there, this can be enough to allow your mind to relax and listen.
Speaking of headphones, you should have a good pair. Although you can use less-expensive headphones, it's recommended to have something at least in the mid-range of quality. There are a few things that you should think about regarding what headphones you use.
Sennheiser RS120 926 MHz Wireless RF Headphones with Charging Cradle

There are many Binaural Beats or Brainwave Synchronization CD's and mp3's that help people who are studying, working or have creative tasks to accomplish. So not all Binaural Beat/Brainwave Synchronization listening is supposed to be completely task or interruption free

- One is the quality of audio. Not all headphones are created equal.
- Another is, do you need wireless headphones? Wireless headphones especially should be made by a quality company. Lesser-brands can give you loud "popping sounds" when listening and you don't want that when you are fully relaxed.
- Another is volume control. It's nice to be relaxed and listening to Binaural Beats. But what if you need to adjust the volume? Getting up out of your relaxed state can defeat the whole purpose.

Tips:
- If you have a door to the room you're listening in, put a post-it note on the door. Simply write the time that you expect to finish on the note and ask to not be disturbed.
- If your phone rings or you expect it could ring, turn it off! Unless it's an emergency, you should be allowed to be free from needing to be available to everyone for a few minutes a day.
- If your pets are your concern, feed them before you listen. If they need to be outside for a time, take them after you listen. After a few times, your pets will learn that when you have your door shut, there is a reward once it opens. If they can handle being without you for a few minutes, shut your door so you can be by yourself while you listen.
